I have a B.S. in Biology from San Diego State University, and 5 years of experience in science education through jobs with the National Park Service, US Forest Service, and TRIO Upward Bound. I have over 10 years of tutoring experience as a private tutor throughout college and beyond.

My approach to teaching is based entirely on each individual student or group of students. Learning new subjects requires a solid foundation from which to build, so I always start each lesson by determining what my students already know. My Park Ranger training has also taught me to always connect the subject to the individual, so I'll try to base my teaching on things that are relevant and applicable to the students.
I have extensive experience working with middle and high school students, but am happy to apply my teaching skills to first and second-year college students of any age, as well!
