About Ksenia

My professional tennis career and knowledge taught by the best tennis coaches helped me teach tennis myself. Since the age of 7, I was coached by the same coach who taught Anna Kournikova, Maria Sharapova, and Anastasia Myskina - Laris Dmitrievna Preobrazhenskaya. Then I moved to California, Granite Bay Tennis Academy, when I was 17, because she passed away. There I was trained by Dmitry Tursunov (ranked 50 ATP) and Vitaly Gorin. I played with Nikoloz Basilashvili and other amazing players that went to the pro tour.

At the age of 17, I was offered athletic scholarships at different universities, and I accepted an athletic scholarship at New Jersey Institute of Technology, where I got my Bachelor's and Master's Degrees on full athletic and academic scholarships. I graduated with many awards such as New Jersey Woman Athlete of the Year, many MVPs, and Newcomer of the Year, etc. I chose to continue my career in marketing. So for the last couple of years, I was focused on working in Business and Marketing fields, but I continued playing tennis to maintain my athletic shape and form.

About the lesson

I tailor each practice to every single person I coach. But I strongly believe that the foundation for tennis lies in your technique. Great technique will allow you to apply various shots and make your game unpredictable. That said, I focus a lot on the technique. Then, I drill with players who are older, 14-17 years old. I don't just stand with the basket and throw balls; I actually engage in running drills, especially in one-on-one practices. I strongly believe that if you practice with someone stronger than you, you will grow in tennis significantly quicker. Then, I focus a lot on consistency. Once again, it depends on who I am coaching. If I am training with ITF players, I want them to be aggressive and take many balls from the baseline and not back up. If I am just hitting with someone who will go to college, I will focus on drills that will generate consistent rallies and deep balls.
