About Fiona
I was a teacher aide at a secondary school the year after my own exit from high school. I taught in almost every subject along with experience working in the special needs department. I even worked with grade 12 despite my young age and can competently teach Maths A, B, and C when it comes to elective classes, - having studied Math B and C (statistics and calculus) myself in my last years of school. I have a Cert 3 in Education Support, a QCE (Queensland Certificate of Education) and a Blue card.

I'm all about going at the students pace and making sure they understand. I can adapt my teaching methods for each particular student depending on how it is they best learn.
My usual approach is giving a rough/quick intro to the topic, explain it's purpose, demonstrate how it's done, then get the student to try it for themselves with assistance when needed.
If it's better suited to the student though, we can try building models or using counters... math games. It all depends on what works.
