About Beth
Hi, my name is Bethany, and I’m a bass guitarist, performer, songwriter and visual artist from Perth, currently completing my final year of a Bachelor of Contemporary Music at WAAPA!
I have been playing bass for over a decade, and have spent the past four years performing professionally in the Perth music scene. I’ve performed across original projects and cover bands, as well as larger structured ensemble settings including musical theater productions. I’ve also had the opportunity to record music, perform at festivals and organize live events, giving me experience not only as a musician, but as a professional who works collaboratively with other performers and musicians.
Music has been a huge part of my life since I was a child, and I’m passionate about sharing that enjoyment with other people. I want to teach because I know how exciting it can be to discover an instrument, learn your favorite songs and eventually develop your own sound. I believe music lessons should be a space where students can be creative, build confidence and develop a genuine love for music.
Alongside my own music career, I have over three years of experience tutoring high school students and two years of experience working with children as a Head Teacher at Code Camp. These experiences have taught me the importance of patience, encouragement and adapting the way I teach to suit each student.
As a performer and songwriter, I love the creative and collaborative side of music, and I hope to pass that enthusiasm on to my students. Whether you're just starting, learning your favorite songs or wanting to develop your skills further, I’d love to help you become a more confident and creative musician!

My lessons are designed to be fun, practical and personalized to each student. Whether you’re picking up the bass for the first time or looking to take your playing further, we’ll work towards your goals and interests while building strong musical foundations.
I like to combine technique, music theory and practical application, including learning songs, playing along to music, and any personal projects students may want to work on. I want students to enjoy their lessons, so I encourage them to bring their own musical interests and favorite artists and genres into the learning process.
I’m currently completing my final year of a Bachelor of Contemporary Music at WAAPA and have four years of professional performance experience in the Perth music scene. I also have over three years of tutoring experience with Year 7–10 students at Cluey Learning, and two years of experience as a Head Teacher at Code Camp.
My lessons are for beginners and intermediate players of all ages! Depending on your experience level, lessons can be tailored to you.
Lessons will be between 30 and 60 minutes.
