About Hannah

I studied French and Spanish at university and graduated in 2023. Since then, I have been tutoring GCSE, AS and A-Level French and GCSE Spanish.

As part of my degree, I spent a year in France teaching English. During this time, I taught individuals to help prepare them for (the French equivalent of) their A-levels and GCSEs. This involved creating lesson plans to help them practice both vocabulary and grammar, as well as preparing questions for them to answer orally in order for them to improve their confidence and ability to speak in a different language.

About the lesson

When teaching languages, I aim to make practising new vocab interesting by focusing on topics that the student enjoys, as well as what is required for the school curriculum.
I've found that creating a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere is key to tutoring as it can be stressful for students to make mistakes in front of others.
I have experience working with a range of ages, using a mix of interactive activities that are tailored to each individual to make the lessons more enjoyable. My aim is always to support both understanding and confidence in the chosen subject.
We'll discuss topics that students like to talk about - hobbies, sports, TV. We'll use lessons to go over grammar points, listening skills, and being able to respond to spontaneous conversation. It's important for students to gain confidence speaking in French.
