About Caroline

• Bachelor in translation, English to French (Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières).
• Translator/revisor for the public and private sectors (many years).
• World traveler; myself a student learning Spanish.
• I speak French Canadian (native), English (2nd language) and Spanish (3rd language).

Thanks to my background as a translator and a traveler learning Spanish, I have both professional and personal understanding of how it is to learn a language. That’s why my lessons are friendly, yet professional, so you can learn in a fun way without feeling overwhelmed. I can explain in French, English or Spanish.

I was born and raised in the province of Québec, Canada. It's where I live and I also travel a few months a year. I am passionate about traveling, learning languages, discovering cultures and new things in general. You can find me reading in a café one day, and another day trying a complete new experience. Enjoying life is my “motto”. Let’s start or continue your French learning journey together!

About the lesson

As your tutor, I will make sure that you are comfortable to progress at your own pace and in a friendly, yet professional way. Learning a language is challenging, but it can also be fun!

Together, we will:

- Focus on your specific needs.
- Respect your learning pace.
- Have day-to-day conversations to progress in a fun way.
- Work on a specific academic/professional task, if needed.
- Pay attention to the particularity of the French language in Canada.

On the first lesson, we will introduce each other, understand your needs and assess your level of French. Whether you want to learn for an upcoming trip to Canada, for personal interest, for academic or professional purpose, we will find the approach for you.

If you are a beginner, we will start with the basics (alphabet, numbers, phonetics, useful words/sentences, etc.). We will then start having simple conversations.

If you have a French background, we will have conversations in the subject matter of your choice to progress quickly in a fun way. As we talk, I will explain what you need to improve and give you more advanced idioms/expressions ideas. AND/OR we will focus on your specific needs (homework, working on a professional text/speech/CV, etc.)
