About Oakley
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in French Studies and a Master of Arts in Language Education, and I have 9 years of experience teaching French to students from different backgrounds and skill levels. My journey with the French language began with a strong interest in communication and culture, which gradually grew into a deep passion for teaching. Over the years, I have worked with beginners who were learning their first words as well as advanced learners aiming to achieve fluency. This experience has helped me understand how to adapt my teaching style to suit each individual learner’s needs, pace, and comfort level.
My teaching approach is based on patience, clarity, and consistency. I believe that every student learns differently, so I focus on creating lessons that are simple, structured, and easy to follow. I use clear explanations, practical examples, and regular practice exercises to help students build confidence gradually. I always encourage students to ask questions, practice speaking, and stay engaged throughout the lesson. Creating a friendly and comfortable learning environment is very important to me because it helps students learn without fear and grow with confidence.
Outside of teaching, I continue to improve my own knowledge of language teaching methods, communication strategies, and cultural understanding. I enjoy reading, exploring new learning techniques, and staying updated with modern approaches to language education. Teaching French is very meaningful to me because I get to help students open new opportunities, improve their communication skills, and gain confidence in a new language. Watching students grow from beginners to confident speakers is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.

French lessons become much more effective when students feel relaxed and confident enough to use the language in real conversations. My lessons focus on building a strong foundation in speaking, listening, reading, and writing through simple explanations and consistent practice. I introduce vocabulary, sentence structures, and pronunciation in a clear and structured way so students can understand easily without feeling overwhelmed. Every lesson includes conversation practice, guided exercises, and listening activities that help students gradually become more comfortable using French naturally. I create a warm and supportive learning environment where students are encouraged to try, make mistakes, and improve step by step without hesitation.
For beginners, I focus on basic vocabulary, simple sentence building, pronunciation, and everyday expressions that are useful in daily communication. Intermediate learners work on grammar improvement, longer conversations, reading short passages, and writing structured sentences with better clarity. Advanced students focus on fluent speaking, understanding native-level conversations, expressing ideas clearly, and improving overall communication confidence. I carefully adjust the lesson pace according to each student’s comfort level so they can progress steadily and confidently without pressure.
Learning French also helps students develop better thinking skills, cultural awareness, and communication ability. As students improve, they become more confident in expressing their ideas and understanding others in a new language. Many students start enjoying the learning process as they notice their progress and begin using French in real-life situations. My goal is to make learning French simple, enjoyable, and meaningful so that students feel confident, capable, and motivated throughout their journey.
