About Livia
My interest in French and Francophone culture inspired me to pursue a B.A. in French Studies followed by an M.A. in French Linguistics. Over 8 years of teaching, I have supported students at all levels in achieving fluency, cultural competence, and confident self-expression. I focus on creating lessons that balance grammar, vocabulary, conversation, and cultural insight while fostering curiosity, creativity, and independence.
I design lessons that integrate reading, writing, speaking, listening, and cultural context in a structured yet engaging way. Students are encouraged to explore idiomatic expressions, pronunciation nuances, and stylistic writing while gaining confidence in conversation and comprehension. Roleplay, storytelling, and interactive exercises are key components of my approach.
Beyond teaching, I immerse myself in literature, contemporary culture, and Francophone media to enrich my lessons with authentic context and real-world relevance. I take joy in witnessing students progress from hesitant speakers to confident communicators capable of nuanced expression.
