About Karen
I am a native French speaker with one-to-one tutoring experience in teaching French and English to learners aged 5 to 19. I have also taught in secondary schools in the UK.
I have a joint degree in English literature and FLE (Français Langue Etrangère) from Aix-Marseille Université and studied Italian for 6 years.
I obtained a certificate in Methodology of Foreign Language Teaching (French) and Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL).
I then moved to the UK as an Erasmus exchange student and studied for one year at Oxford Brookes University, while writing my final dissertation.
I am familiar with the GCSE and A-level curriculums in Modern Foreign Languages. I also offer conversational French lessons to learners of any level.
I am motivated by the idea of transmission of knowledge to the following generations, contact with students and the diffusion of French and British cultures.

I offer one-to-one or group beginners to advanced/conversational lessons.
I like to prioritise speaking although I generally cover all four (speaking/listening/writing/reading) in one lesson.
I organise my lessons differently depending on the objectives of students.
In order to take it forward, I like to assign educational tasks and projects therefore instilling motivational, academic, cultural and societal skillfulness in learners.
I believe in using diverse materials and resources to make lessons as engaging as possible (texts, videos, recordings...etc)
