I use an interactive approach devised by Goldsmiths and Cumbria Universities, which focuses on spoken oral communication. I like to use engaging games and activities, and include culture and music, videos, stories etc. My lessons are relaxed, low stakes and I communicate primarily in the target language to maximise exposure to the language.
Typical lesson length would be an hour, but this can be flexible depending on age and need.
I have a PGCE in Secondary French and Spanish teaching and have experience teaching ages 4-16. My students have been very successful in their French GCSE, with a particularly noticeable improvement in spoken and written confidence. Younger learners enjoy singing, games and asking for what they want in French.
