About Mara
As a student myself, I understand the significance of being fully engaged in learning for it to be most effective. Therefore, I strive to make my lessons as enjoyable and engaging as I can, especially as English is a subject I am so passionate about, to help students achieve great results. Although a native English speaker, as someone who is now trilingual, languages and words have always been very fascinating to me, and so teaching English literature & language has been something I've found great joy in.

I am committed to ensuring my students excel academically, while learning in a fun, no-pressure environment. I base my GCSE and A-Level sessions on the student's specific exam board curriculum, ensuring an individuality to my teaching approach with each student. When approaching a new topic/module, I will structure the lesson by first introducing the content in a clear and simple way, before going through examples with the student to ensure they are confident by the end of the topic.

We found Mara on our Nextdoor neighbourhood app, advertising her tutoring services in January 2023. Our son had upcoming English Literature a level exams starting in May 2023; in those four months Mara worked with him, his grades went from a predicted C to an A.
