About Morris
Growing up I lived in two worlds, one at home where I spoke Mandarin to my parents and one at school where I spoke English to my friends. In time, I learned to navigate between the two worlds. I learned to translate and in turn understand Mandarin through English.
Completing my masters in history at the University of Edinburgh, I am deeply aware that the best way to learn is to tell a story. My upbringing and experience in living across different cultural settings helps me see the difficulties one may have in learning Mandarin.

Reading, let along speaking and understanding spoken Mandarin can seem like a monumental task. Yet, like all language there is an internal logic and history to it.
