About Fiona

Hello everyone, I recently graduated from Durham University with a First Class degree in French and Spanish. I have been tutoring both languages for 4 years now, and I have built up a large bank of resources, tips and tricks to help you ace your language exams!

I loved studying languages because of all the doors they open for you, and the communication and interpersonal skills that you gain. You open up a whole new world of music, films, food, culture, traditions and history to explore and understand, as well as being able to chat with anyone you come across!

After graduating, I moved abroad - an opportunity that wouldn't have been possible if I hadn't studied languages! My love for languages had now led me to embark on a Masters in Speech Therapy back in the UK. I'm looking forward to sharing my enthusiasm for languages with you, and hope I can help you on your language journey through friendly and engaging tutoring.

About the lesson

I have been tutoring for 5 years, after gaining a First Class in my French and Spanish degree at Durham University.

My lessons are engaging and tailored to your needs - we can start by discussing your strengths and weaknesses, and what kind of learning works for you!

Depending on what you would like to improve - vocabulary, grammar, speaking, reading, writing - I will tailor each session to you and your level. If you are studying a particular exam board, we can work on key vocab, past papers, essay technique and targeted grammar practice. For more advanced levels we can broaden your language skills to real-life settings, through music, films, culture - whatever interests you! I'm a patient and encouraging tutor, as I have first-hand experience of how difficult and confusing learning a language can feel sometimes.

Whatever your level or the areas you're looking to work on, let me know and I'd love to help you to achieve your language goals!
