About Mat
I am an experienced educator and senior leader with a strong background in teaching, student support, leadership and communication. Over the years, I have worked with students and professionals from a wide range of cultural and language backgrounds, helping them build confidence and communicate more effectively.
I hold postgraduate qualifications in business and project management and have extensive experience across higher education, vocational education and professional environments.
My teaching style is supportive, patient and practical. I understand that learning English can feel intimidating, so I create a relaxed environment where students can ask questions, make mistakes and improve without feeling judged. My goal is to help every student feel more confident using English in everyday life, study and the workplace.

My lessons are practical, conversational and tailored to each student’s goals. I focus on building confidence in real-world English, including speaking, listening, pronunciation, vocabulary and workplace communication. Rather than relying only on textbooks, I use everyday situations, discussion and practical examples to help students communicate naturally and effectively.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes, although longer sessions can be arranged depending on your needs.
I have extensive experience in education, leadership and student support, including teaching adult learners from diverse cultural and language backgrounds. I also hold postgraduate qualifications in business and project management and bring significant professional experience in communication, leadership and workplace environments.
My lessons are best suited to adult learners, international students and professionals from beginner to advanced levels who want to improve their conversational English, confidence, workplace communication or general fluency.
