About Liam

Hi! I’m a Fine Art Graduate currently working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school in London. Having done an Art Foundation in Bournemouth Arts University, a BA in Fine Art at Central Saint Martins, worked as an Artist Assistant for almost 2 years and now running my own art workshops, I bring a wide range of artistic knowledge to the students I work with.

For the last 2 years I've been running art classes in schools and my own art workshops, leading students to develop in confidence, artistic ability and enjoy making art a whole lot more!

Additionally, having studied at one of the worlds leading Art University’s, I know what it takes to be successful in the application process and can therefore guide you in doing the same!

About the lesson

What I can help with :

Preparation for GCSE and A - Level art exams

Portfolio preparation for Art Foundation / University Applications

Providing feedback on student’s work and suggestions on developing their thinking, research and creative methods.

Learning to draw / drawing techniques. Portraiture, Landscapes etc

Brainstorming for students struggling with inspiration

I can also run more general fun art lessons based around the students interests

Method

In addition to formalities such as exam and portfolio preparation, I also aim to open the students mind with new art techniques, engaging conversations about art and introducing them to new artists they may find inspiring. Developing this breadth of knowledge about the arts will help the student to form an independent, critical way of thinking and working, which will ultimately get the student the best marks possible. and also importantly would be what drives them to be successful in a Fine Art BA.

Liam helped me with writing a personal statement for my application to study a foundation diploma in art. Although I've done different art courses in the last few years, I didn't know how to describe my interest in art and my skills with the right language. Liam was a wonderful tutor who helped my sons (8 & 12) with homeschooling during lockdown and in particular with art projects for my younger son. Liam showed Oliver how to work in different mediums and this helped Oliver with self expression and led him to gain confidence in his abilities. Oliver is now confident working on his own or on group art projects.
