About Yuya

Hi! I am an RMIT University student living in Melbourne and a native Mandarin speaker from China.

I enjoy spending time with children and helping them develop confidence in Mandarin through stories, conversations and everyday activities rather than traditional classroom teaching.

I love reading Chinese picture books, sharing Chinese culture and creating a relaxed and positive learning environment where children feel comfortable using Chinese naturally.

I can provide after-school care and companionship, including homework support, Mandarin conversation, reading time and creative activities. I also enjoy drawing and arts and crafts, and I am happy to spend time painting, coloring and doing creative projects with children.

I speak both English and Mandarin, hold a Working With Children Check and always prioritize patience, safety and encouragement.

Whether your child is completely new to Mandarin or already speaks some Chinese at home, I hope to help them enjoy the language, express their creativity and build confidence at their own pace.

I am available for after-school companionship and can support children with Mandarin practice, homework, reading and quiet activities until parents return home.

About the lesson

I provide Mandarin lessons for children through conversation, story reading and language immersion rather than traditional classroom teaching.

My lessons are suitable for children aged 5 and above who would like to develop confidence in Mandarin in a relaxed and supportive environment.

I enjoy reading Chinese picture books, drawing, playing games and encouraging children to use Mandarin naturally. Lessons can include reading, speaking, simple writing activities and homework support depending on each child's needs.

As an RMIT Social Science student with a Working With Children Check, I aim to create a positive and comfortable learning experience where children can enjoy Chinese and build confidence at their own pace.
