Friendly, motivating, passionate about science! Maths teacher at Edinburgh - Jonathan

I have known Jonathan for nearly 4 years, having been tutored by him for my BSc Natural Science degree. I found him to be incredibly knowledgeable in the field of natural science, always well prepared and able to answer all of my questions. Jonathan was very enthusiastic and made the learning experience enjoyable. He was reliable, trustworthy and honest. I would highly recommend Jonathan as a personal tutor.

I know Jonathan because I have taught him Earth sciences at degree level. This has been both face-to-face over a number of intensive teaching days as well as through the Open University distance teaching methods. Jonathan is extremely intelligent and engaging. He has a first class enquiring mind and a well-honed work ethic including excellent time-management and motivation skills. This is exemplified by his ability to study for a degree full time (120 credits a year) whilst still working.

Jonathan achieved very high grades in his degree modules making him suitable to teach geography, geology, science and mathematics. Jonathan also perseveres at tasks where many would give up. His varied and demanding employment record also clearly shows that he is multi-talented. On a personal level Jonathan (Jonny) is lively, gregarious, mature, trustworthy and interesting.
