About Hiromi

Hi, I'm a native Japanese speaker, born and raised in Japan. I studied English at university, and later spent a year living in Valencia, Spain (until May 2026) on a working holiday visa, where I taught Japanese to Spanish students of different levels. Through that mainly experience, I learned how to explain Japanese grammar and expressions clearly to non-native speakers, and how to make lessons practical rather than purely academic. My lessons focus on everyday conversation — natural, real-life Japanese rather than textbook-only phrases. I'm comfortable teaching complete beginners as well as students who already have some experience and want to sound more natural. I can explain in English (B1+) or Spanish (B1) whenever needed, which can help if something isn't clear in Japanese. Outside of teaching, I love traveling. In Japan, I enjoy visiting shrines and different regions, and while living in Spain, I took the chance to travel around Europe, visiting Germany, the Netherlands, Paris, and London. I also love talking with friends, and I've actually learned a lot of my English and Spanish just through everyday conversations with them — which is probably why I believe so much in learning language through real conversation rather than just studying grammar in a book. I try to create a relaxed, encouraging atmosphere where mistakes are just part of learning, not something to worry about. About the lesson

My lessons focus mainly on everyday conversation — practical, natural Japanese you can actually use in real life, not just textbook phrases. A typical lesson starts with a short review, then moves into conversation practice based on your interests and daily situations, with grammar and vocabulary introduced naturally as we go. I taught Japanese to Spanish students while living in Spain, and I'm comfortable using "Minna no Nihongo" or working without a textbook, depending on what suits you best. Since I studied English at university and speak both English (B1+) and Spanish (B1), I can explain grammar clearly in either language when needed. My lessons are great for beginners to intermediate learners who want to build real conversational confidence rather than just memorize rules.
