About Pip
I love tech and anything that reveals new and exciting ways to create things. I have taught privately and at colleges (and myself - an ongoing project!) Something that has kept me interested in teaching for 25 years - and still does is watching the reaction/comprehension when students 'click' with the important concepts as they realise what is possible. Then seeing what they produce/come up with, usually it's something I haven't thought of, endlessly fascinating!.

Hi, I'm a friendly tutor with a degree in teaching and 25 years' teaching experience in various London-based colleges and also privately. Something I specialise in is making my lessons fun and 'easy to follow'. I will also point out the vital pitfalls to any beginner, especially in software such as Photoshop which has a steep learning curve. Lesson times vary from one hour to three but around two usually works the best. My lessons come with clearly explained and very visual handouts. They are in PDF format for easy printing or reading online. I will also send a 'video capture lesson' of whatever aspect is taught as a permanent reference. I am happy teaching all levels and ages. Often my lessons will run like so - + I will demonstrate from start to finish with the software what is required, showing the process and explaining the pitfalls so students can 'see' the process. + I will do this a second time with the student recalling what they can, attempting to explain the steps. + The final time I will get the student to 'teach' it back to me. (but I will refrain from prompting them) this works 'almost' every time. + This method of 'teaching back to you' really helps to embed the process.
