About Péter
Hey, I am Peter, a professional Data Scientist/Geoscientist,
I obtained a PhD degree in Marine Geosciences and Paleontology at the institution of MARUM (Center for Marine Environmental Sciences) in Bremen, Germany. I like to talk about science and make it understandable for everyone.
I have several years of teaching experience obtained during my academic career. I supervised bachelor students and taught students in various different countries (Italy, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia), from elementary and high schools. I regularly attend science outreach community events devoted to highlight science for children and their parents.
Next to geoscience, I admire computer and data science. I am a Python enthusiast - I don't want to look at my data, I want to understand it!

Basics of Python and data science for everyone!
My lessons will give you a good understanding and overview of data analytics and data science by using Python. We will learn about data management practices, data manipulation, analytics, visualizations and interpretation.
The content of the lessons could be adjusted to the individual's background and preferences. However, this is the general overview of the course content:
- Introduction to Python;
- Data manipulation (pandas and numpy libraries);
- Joining tables (pandas);
- Data visualization (matplotlib and seaborn libraries);
- Data science toolboxes;
- Data cleaning;
- Writing functions in Python;
- Cluster analysis.
We will analyze databases from Netflix, IMDb, Spotify, FIFA and many others, in order to make data science as interesting as possible!
