About Keira

As a guitarist with over 3 years of teaching experience and a Graduate Certificate in Advanced Guitar Studies, I love helping students train their ears as much as their hands. I believe that the true language of music is listening. My lessons center on transcribing, identifying chords, and understanding progressions by ear. I teach students how to recognize patterns in melodies and harmony without relying on tabs. Each class is designed to sharpen the inner ear and improve intuition on the fretboard. We also explore tone recognition and rhythmic awareness to build a complete sense of musicianship. I encourage students to listen actively to every note they play. Over time, they learn to anticipate sounds before they even touch the strings. I provide step-by-step ear training drills and creative transcription challenges. My approach builds both technical skill and musical confidence. I aim to help every student develop perfect pitch sensitivity and effortless recognition. With patience, curiosity, and consistent practice, you’ll hear your guitar—and music itself—differently than ever before.

About the lesson

In my guitar lessons, I focus on developing strong music reading skills for all players. I teach both tablature and standard notation so students can read any style confidently. Lessons include rhythm reading, note recognition, and sight-reading exercises for fluency. My approach is simple but structured, helping each guitarist progress at their own pace. We practice connecting the written page to real playing on the fretboard. The Classical Purist learns to read with precision and emotion in traditional pieces. The Jazz Explorer focuses on chord charts, lead sheets, and rhythmic flexibility. I guide students through every stage of learning with clear explanations and examples. We use fun drills and real music excerpts to make reading natural. I believe that music reading is a skill that unlocks full creative freedom.
