About Belinda

As mentioned, I am a fully qualified teacher,born in north London.I am highly skilled in my profession,and thus work in a prestigious and high attaining school which reflects this claim.

I endeavour to create a safe and positive relationship, with all my pupils.In turn, helping hundreds of children gain confidence,independence and success within their learning .I strive to foster and develop a genuinely enjoyable learning experience!Learning involves trust and at times can prove difficult and frustrating for children .Here, my class teacher role , means I am highly motivated and skilled in challenging academic resistance ,while understanding this will often stem from previous negative school experiences.I use a growth mindset in my lessons and ensure I tailor lessons,to fit each individual child .I am fully trained to work with all SEND needs and I pride myself in being proactive and patient. I have an excellent success rate in improving my pupils attainment and performance, understanding that every child needs a different approach.

As someone who has previously worked within the drama therapy sector,I’m also highly attuned to the emotional needs of my pupils and offer a range of differentiated teaching strategies to build confidence and skill.

I currently live in Highgate ,north London.

About the lesson

As a qualified teacher who initially found education a struggle myself due to boredom and anxiety as a child,I am highly equipped and trained to deal with pupils dealing with SEND related barriers. My expertise also extends to gifted pupils who are just not being offered the stimulation and challenges they need to reach their full potential.I offer a friendly ,calm and creative ,hands on approach to tutoring and have experience with pupils with severe school avoidance and trauma .I have previously been successful in guiding several students towards returning to full time education,building their self confidence and resilience. I am highly experienced in eliminating academic blockages and fears,which are sadly becoming more common.
I completed my first degree in English and Drama at queen Mary University of London ,gaining a first class degree with honours. After working with some amazing lecturers at university ,I discovered that I was never in fact the problem at school. It had been the non supportive teachers around me ,who lacked a passion for their vocation. They were in fact the issue! .I went on to complete a PGCE gaining qualified teacher status with distinctions.I currently work as a KS2 class teacher at a high achieving school in north London. I am blessed to have a job that provides me with a clear and detailed understanding of all subjects in the curriculum. On top of this my job allows me clear insight into how pupils are tested ,specifically how examinations are conducted and scored. I am fully qualified to teach between the ages of 4-12 but am also trained in teaching for school tests annd specialist exams and GCSEs.
