About Wendy

I am a U.K. fully qualified teacher with a degree (Hons) in Fine Art. I have over 20 years of experience teaching both children and adults. As well as working full-time as an artist I also tutor privately and run adult classes from my studio.

About the lesson

Hi, my name is Wendy and I am a U.K. fully qualified teacher with a degree (Hons) in Fine Art. I have over 20 years of experience teaching both children and adults. As well as working full-time as an artist I also tutor privately and run adult classes from my studio.

I have taught in UK schools for over 13 years with children aged from 5 years old. I create lessons to help your child master a range of artistic skills, adopt a love for the creative process, stay inspired and raise their awareness of other cultures.

My adult lessons are suitable for advanced, intermediate and beginners. Whether you wish to progress drawing skills, learn painting techniques or, if you are skilled but wish to develop your style further and flourish as a professional artist - I design bespoke lessons and courses which cater to your own unique requirements. You can develop drawing, painting and mixed-media processes within a figurative or abstract context.

- exploring the visual language of shape, form, colour and line to create - composition and design
- drawing skills
- painting techniques including; mixed-media, inks, watercolour, acrylic

- beginning a project and facing the fear of the blank page,

- learning from the great masters and other cultures
- a broad variety of subject matter including abstract,
- learning about art materials,
- selling and marketing yourself as an artist,
- writing an artist statement,

- staying inspired and motivated,
- enrichment activities to dive deeper,
- finishing and finalising your work

3. At the end of each lesson you will receive:
Feedback with suggested next steps and enrichment activities to improve your skills in between classes.

So whether you are at school, preparing for Art School entry or practice art as a hobby, my classes will cater to you. My aim is to create engaging and inspiring lessons that help you improve your skills, increase confidence and make learning enjoyable.
