About Lauriana

I have been teaching for 8 years. I started with French and foreign children for academic support. My goal, however, was more to arouse their curiosity and their taste for learning rather than looking for a numerical result like a note.
But it is precisely this approach which transformed their vision of school, of learning and which made them evolve in their school evaluations.
I believe in everyone's potential, you just have to understand how it works, which varies from one individual to another.

Then I taught in Japan, group English lessons for children from 2 to 6 years old in a nursery school, then private lessons of English, French and Spanish to teenagers, adults and Japanese retirees, with very varied levels.

About the lesson

Hey!

French from an entirely Spanish family, I grew up with two languages and two cultures.

I then studied other languages, including Japanese, thanks to which I was able to live in Japan for a year and teach English, French and Spanish to the Japanese there, from children to retirees, from beginners to advanced levels.

To learn a language, I don't believe in miracle methods, but I believe that everyone must find their method, or rather their learning strategy.
I am here to build a method and establish a strategy which is adapted to you and to your daily life.
So I do not pretend to teach you a language, it is impossible in my opinion, but rather to teach you how to learn a language, then to support you, to guide you in your learning.

I always use the first class to get to know you better in order to offer you several learning techniques and to create brand new ones with you that would match your personality and your lifestyle.

After the first lesson you will know how to reach your goal, then it will be up to you. As for me, I will be there to assess you, guide you, readjust your strategy according to your growing level, answer your questions at all times, and share my passion for foreign languages with you.

But if my methods vary from one student to another, they all share the same essence, which is Fun.
Because the brain and memory perform a hundred times better when they combine joy and pleasure with learning, I made it the top tenet of my teaching philosophy.

If I had to concentrate my teaching philosophy in one sentence, I would use this quote from Confucius:
"When a man is hungry, better to teach him to fish than to give him a fish. "
