About Christina

I am a qualified Microbiologist (BAppSc) and Science, Mathematics and English Teacher (MEd, BEd) that is passionate about science and education. I have 15 years experience in education and have a deep intuition and knowledge to clearly communicate concepts in science and mathematics for students, that was consolidated during my 10 years industrial experience. I have an intimate knowledge of how to think and work scientifically, and my high level research and communication skills are valuable to students as they develop their research, analytical and communication skills in english. I established my own tutoring company 2 years ago in a response to the needs of students who were struggling with concepts in science and mathematics and found research and writing technical assessments difficult. This is my speciality and I am keen to share this with you and your children.
I live in Carrara, however, my clients are based in the SE corner of Brisbane spanning from Loganholme to Morningside. I am hoping to help more students in these areas.

About the lesson

I am enthusiastic about learning and make my lessons fun and relevant. My lessons are linked to the real world where the compartmental learning experienced in the classroom is brought together, and a deeper understanding of the links between learning experiences is made. This makes understanding concepts easier and enjoyable and the answer to the eternal question of all students, 'Why do I have to learn this, how will I use this in my life', becomes clear. My methods are highly collaborative as I prefer to work with your child to tailor my service to their needs. Not only can I help with current class work, assignments and exam preparation, I also help with organisation, study techniques and assessment planning. I run a comprehensive NAPLAN preparation program for students in Years 7 and 9 to support any school preparation.

I offer a multi session discount to students requiring more than 1 session per week. I also apply a multi child discount for families with more than 1 child requiring assistance. Please ask about these rates.
