About Laura
Hello! I’m a graduate of the Royal College of Music with a deep passion for sharing the joy of flute playing. I began learning the flute at the age of 7, and alongside it studied recorder for 9 years. Since then, I’ve performed in a wide variety of chamber ensembles and orchestras across London and in my home country, Estonia.
Alongside classical performance, I also run a creative project called Fantasy Flute, where I combine music with storytelling, costume, and fantasy themes inspired by films, books, and folklore. This has led me to perform at unique events such as fantasy balls, themed weddings, and festivals, allowing me to bring music to life in magical and imaginative ways.
Teaching is one of my greatest joys and I believe that every student has something unique to offer. I learn just as much from my students as they do from me. My lessons are tailored to each individual, whether you’re a beginner discovering the flute for the first time, an advanced player refining your skills, or someone looking to explore the creative and expressive side of music.
I love making music with all my heart, and I can’t wait to welcome you into this wonderful world of creativity, expression, and discovery!

I believe that learning the flute should be both enjoyable and rewarding. My lessons are tailored to each student, focusing on building strong technique, musical understanding, and confidence, while exploring repertoire that truly excites and motivates the student. I adapt my approach to suit each individual’s goals, learning style, and level.
A typical lesson combines technical exercises, sight-reading, and repertoire work, alongside creative activities such as improvisation or exploring music through storytelling, drawing on my experience with my Fantasy Flute project, where music and imagination come together. For younger students, lessons can be shorter and playful, while older or more advanced students benefit from a structured but flexible approach.
I teach students of all ages and levels. I hold Undergraduate (first class) and Postgraduate (distinction) degrees from the Royal College of Music, where I also completed teaching modules. I’ve been teaching privately for a few years and have received invitations to teach both group and individual lessons at various summer academies.

Since picking up the flute again from my school days nearly twenty years ago, I have been taught by Laura for nearly two years and she is really patient and genuinely passionate about teaching. Our lessons are laid back and rewarding, she notices small details in my improvement every week. I feel like I've improved so much and motivated to continue learning and enjoying playing the flute. I actually enjoy it more than I did when I was at school!
My daughter absolutely loves her flute lessons! She used to not enjoy them so we decided to change the teacher to give it another go. Laura was excellent at finding an approach that suits my daughter well. She is patient, encouraging, and knows how to make learning music really enjoyable. Since learning with her, my daughter always looks forward to her lessons. I couldn’t recommend her highly enough!
