About Alison
With over twenty years of teaching and tutoring experience, I'm under no illusions about the pressures on young people today, and those on their teachers. No wonder so many find it difficult to succeed with confidence. Tutoring, to build resilient, independent learners who can take control of their own progress and address weaker areas, can make such a difference.
I've run English, Science and History departments in a range of state and independent schools in London and Brussels, and have a bank of personal resources and techniques to reach students who are struggling for whatever reason. I've also tutored English and Maths students at much higher levels, to enable scholarship and GCSE success and beyond.
Fun and learning are interdependent. Enough said.
My approach depends on the individual, and I can offer short term solutions to specific issues or a longer term relationship depending on goals. I'm happy to chat things through at any point.
