About Ashlyn
I am on my journey towards becoming a high school teacher. I hope to make a difference in young lives.
I attended a small rural primary school where I learnt the value of education. I then attended the local State High, before becoming a boarding student at Downlands College. I'm inspired by the teachers that have worked to make a difference in my life, and now I'd like to do the same for others.
I am now studying my degree at UniSQ, as well as my TEFL Certificate online. My goal is to teach English abroad after graduation, and finally see Europe. Once returned, I would like to teach in my home of rural Queensland.
I hold a current Police Check and Blue Card, and also have my First Aid, and CPR Certifications.

I utilise teaching techniques that are based on research, in order to provide the most effective tutoring sessions for students. I'm a strong believer in personalised learning, and aim to connect with student's in order to identify what ignites their passion for learning. I can assist with curriculum understanding, assignment writing and exam prep.
For my QCE I completed English Literature, Legal Studies, Business Studies, Modern History, Religion and Ethics, and General Mathematics. I also completed a UniSQ Headstart program in 'International Relations in a Globalising Era'. My senior years took place during Covid-19 over 2020/2021, so I understand the importance of a secure understanding of content in order to consistently work towards the QCE and ATAR. I achieved my goals for senior studies, recieving my QCE and desired ATAR. I hope to help senior student's achieve their goals also.
