About Emma

I am a native Irish speaker who lives in Galway, Ireland.
I am a primary school teacher and thoroughly enjoying it.
I love teaching as I like to help people develop in education and find it extremely rewarding to be a part of that process.
My main passions are Irish and Music.
I am a qualified piano teacher and also play the concertina, tin whistle and the accordion.
Between my love for Irish and traditional music, I would say that I have great love and appreciation for Irish culture

About the lesson

My approach is centered on building a solid foundation in both language and literature while adapting to the student's individual learning style. I focus on improving fluency in spoken and written Irish by breaking down grammar rules, expanding vocabulary, and encouraging regular practice through conversation and writing exercises. For literature, I guide students through key texts, helping them analyze themes, characters, and linguistic techniques, while also refining their essay-writing skills. I use past exam papers and comprehension exercises to familiarize students with exam formats and timing.

My lessons last one hour, to ensure that I can teach content at an efficient pace.

I am a primary school teacher.

I can provide grinds to children in primary school and secondary school, who are struggling with Irish or who are looking to perfect their Irish.
