About Julia

Hi, I’m Julia! I’m currently studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Glasgow, where I’m developing my passion for maths, physics, and problem-solving. My long-term ambition is to work in Formula 1, applying engineering principles to high-performance motorsport.

Outside of my studies, I enjoy skiing and mountain biking, and I’m always looking for an excuse to get outdoors. I also love travelling and exploring new places whenever I can.

I love tutoring because I enjoy helping students build confidence and discover that maths can be both understandable and rewarding. Having recently completed my own GCSEs and A-levels, I understand the challenges students face and can explain concepts in a clear, relatable way. My aim is to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, developing their skills, and achieving their goals.

About the lesson

Hi, I’m Julia, and I offer personalised tutoring in GCSE Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, as well as A Level Maths. My goal is to make challenging topics clear, logical, and engaging while helping students build confidence and achieve their academic goals.

• Teaching Approach: I focus on developing a strong understanding of concepts rather than relying on memorisation. My lessons combine clear explanations, visual methods, and step-by-step problem solving, alongside plenty of exam-style practice to strengthen technique and boost confidence.

• Lesson Structure: Each session lasts around one hour and is tailored to the individual student. Lessons typically include reviewing key concepts, working through guided examples, and practising targeted questions to address specific areas of difficulty.

• Qualifications & Experience: I achieved Grade 9 in GCSE Maths and Physics, an A* in A Level Maths and Physics, and a A in A Level Further Maths. I am currently studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Glasgow, where I continue to apply advanced mathematical and scientific concepts. I have experience supporting students across a range of abilities and helping them improve both their understanding and exam performance.

• Who It’s For: My lessons are suitable for GCSE students studying Maths and Science, as well as A Level Maths students. Whether you're looking to build confidence, improve grades, prepare for exams, or aim for top marks, lessons will be tailored to your needs and learning style.
