About Isla

I began tutoring with Superprof in February 2025 along side my A Level studies. Since achieving A's in my A Level Mathematics, Physics and Spanish exams, I have started a gap year and I am keen to support more students because I have enjoyed my experience so far with Superprof. At GCSE, I achieved 9 Grade 9's, so am confident in strategies to achieve top grades across subjects. I have maths teaching experience through a Royal Institution led Programme in 2024, thanks to my sixth form Sir Isaac Newton.

About the lesson

Each lesson typically lasts 1 to 2 hours. I keep track of progress to recap weak areas, and refer to the specification so nothing is forgotten. I also provide study and exam techniques to help students perform at their best in GCSE Mathematics if they would like it! I am also happy to deliver some lessons dedicated to Spanish or Physics as I study them at A Level, and offer advice for life after high school if students are considering A Levels or University.

I typically offer sessions online, but I cycle to the city centre or students' homes if that's a better fit, message me to find out if I can accommodate your needs!

In terms of student progression, I have been very happy with results. All students who sat their GCSE exams in 2025 achieved their desired grades. These students had maths lessons typically 2 hours a week, we tackled past papers by building foundational skills and applying them in exam style questions. Consistency is key, hence I encourage independent study for skills which require repetition, but we will build topic understanding together where skills cannot be self taught. Across my lessons in Spanish and Physics, I have seen great progression also.
