About Laila
Hello! I'm Laila, a final-year Veterinary Medicine student at the University of Liverpool, due to graduate in December, with over 10 years of experience tutoring GCSE Maths. Throughout my time as a tutor, I've helped students of all abilities build confidence, strengthen their mathematical understanding, and achieve their academic goals.
I believe that every student can succeed in maths with the right support and encouragement. I am patient, friendly, and understand that every student learns differently, so I tailor my teaching to each individual's needs. I strive to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and learning from them. I'm passionate about helping students develop a growth mindset, build lasting confidence, and reach their full potential.
As someone studying a demanding STEM degree, I understand the importance of strong mathematical skills and enjoy sharing that enthusiasm with my students.
Tutoring has been one of the most rewarding parts of my life, and I genuinely love helping students discover that they are capable of far more than they think. There's nothing more satisfying than seeing a student grow in confidence, overcome challenges they once found impossible, and begin to enjoy maths.

I offer personalised online GCSE Maths tuition designed to build both mathematical ability and confidence.
With 10 years of tutoring experience, I create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. My teaching encourages a growth mindset, helping students see challenges as opportunities to learn and improve.
Lessons typically last 50 minutes and combine clear explanations, worked examples, and exam-style practice. I can also offer longer sessions where required, particularly before exams or when covering more challenging topics.
I teach both Foundation and Higher GCSE Maths, supporting students to build confidence, achieve their target grades, and develop a positive attitude towards maths. Whether you're working towards a pass, aiming for the highest grades, or simply looking to feel more confident in maths, I can help you reach your goals.
