About Marcela
Born and lived for a number of years in Colombia, learning Spanish as a first language. I've lived in the USA for almost two decades, picking up English pretty quickly after moving and practicing it ever since. As the GM for a busy cell phone carrier, I interact with dozens of people throughout the week in both English and Spanish.

Everyone learns differently, so I like to find out what works best for the student first and set up a plan this way. I believe full immersion helped me tremendously when I was learning to speak English, so we would approach learning with music, tv and movies, and diverse reading.
I believe everyone also learns at their own pace, so there is no rush! We can take our time, the goal is for you to learn.
Finally, speaking a new language can also be a little intimidating, mostly because accents are real and languages can be confusing, so I want to promote confidence while learning and confidence while speaking to the public. Everyone starts somewhere and the best way to retain a language is to continue practicing and overcome those communication obstacles.

My rate is $17 per hour, but can set up discounted rates for more than one hour.
Minimum 24 hour cancellation notice. Please communicate if you need to cancel or reschedule as I have to schedule lessons around my work schedule.
Currently, I am only available to offer virtual classes.
If you are an experienced Spanish or English speaker, I won't be of help for you. I am here for the native Spanish speaker wanting to learn how to communicate in English or the other way around if wanting to learn Spanish.
