About Amir
I have recently graduated Year 12 and hope to continue a journey seeking global contributions to human causes. I have had many unique experiences coloring in my understanding of the human condition and global sociopolitical movements, and will always seek more such experiences and encourage potential students to do the same. My core areas of historical knowledge and interest concern the post-WWI to the end of WWII period, particularly the rise of the Nazis and the Second World War's course, as well as the history of the Soviet Union and Russia in the modern era. Regarding politics, I concern myself primarily with the United States, Europe, East Asia, and MENA - however, I do try to maintain a global approach in my understanding of global events and conflicts. As for sociopolitical theory, I consider myself fairly knowledgeable on Marxism, Leninism, Fascism, various types of Democratic systems, gender and race theory, Zionism, Khomeinism, Green politics, various conspiracy theory movements and the MAGA movement.

I believe a comprehensive understanding of sociopolitical theory and the current state of the world is **the** most important task for every single person right now, as rights and democratic principles come under threat around the world and instability rises globally with myriad crises ranging from wars to climate change. Self-education in all matters concerning humanity is thus an important task for every member of the human race - but it is not always easy to cut through the shocking deluge of misinformation and malicious disinformation permeating online spaces.
I have experienced a wide range of societies and social structures - both personally and through my curiosity-driven interactions with diverse individuals ranging from an American veteran of the Vietnam war, a Russian engineer whose life spanned the existence of the USSR, a teacher from the former Yugoslavia and an old survivor of the Blitz on London to those who cowered from Saddam Hussein's bombs.
Although history and geopolitics are a passion of mine rather than being a part of my formal education, I take the seeking and retention of knowledge - particularly objective, unbiased knowledge - very seriously. I always extensively research topics I am curious about and form critical, independent opinions about all matters taking into account all different talking points and rhetoric of various sides - this ethos is what I aim to instill in any potential students also.
Further, I emphasise a global approach to all sociopolitical thinking, and myself seek to stay aware and up-to-date on all global goings-on: although, it is a Sisyphean task and I am never able to fully cover the globe!
