About Gesine

I’m a German native speaker from Germany, currently studying psychology in Stellenbosch. Alongside my studies, I work with children in a local primary school, which has helped me become patient, organized, and confident in supporting learners of different ages. Before moving to South Africa, I also worked as a private tutor in Germany for one year, helping students with German, English, and general schoolwork. I truly enjoy helping beginners take their first steps in German and creating a calm, friendly, and supportive learning environment. My goal is to help every student feel comfortable, confident, and motivated as they learn at their own pace.

About the lesson

What I teach
• Beginner German (A1–A2)
• Vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation
• Everyday conversation and confidence building
• German for travel, studies, or work
• Homework help and school support

My teaching style

I focus on creating a calm and friendly learning environment where you never feel embarrassed to make mistakes — they’re part of the process! I use simple explanations, real-life examples, and structured exercises tailored to how you learn best. Every student is different, so I adjust my methods to your needs and progress.

Why learn with me?
• Native German speaker
• Clear and patient teaching approach
• Lessons tailored to your goals
• Supportive, kind, and easy to talk to
• No pressure — we learn at your pace
• Flexible scheduling and quick communication

What a lesson looks like

We start with a short check-in to see how you’re feeling and what you want to focus on. Then we move through vocabulary, small dialogues, and simple grammar in a fun, engaging way. I always include practical examples so you can start using German from day one.

If you’re looking for someone friendly, patient, and supportive to guide you through your first steps in German — I’d love to help you learn!
