About Mel

I was born and raised in Frankfurt, Germany, and moved to the UK in 2017 to go Drama School and since graduating from East 15 Acting School and ArtsEd, I have worked many different day jobs, but somehow always end up going back to my roots and endulging in the beautiful language I grew up speaking. I am a trained theatre performer based in East London and already back in high school I was a German tutor where I would help out classmates and give lessons outside of school for younger students and have been giving lessons alongside of pursuing my acting career as well. Taking Advanced German for my A-Levels definitely helped as I was able to teach students how to improve their writing skills and overall verbalism in German and so far, everyone I have ever tutored has been nothing but happy with their results which has brought me so much joy and has filled me with such pride. I am more than happy to help out people of all ages with their German skills - whether that's helping you with your homework, studying for upcoming tests with you, helping you with conversational German or - if you're also part of this crazy acting industry - even with helping you with your accent as I have a very neutral accent when speaking English, but can easily slip in and out of it whenever I please. I've also worked as a translator on multiple projects before, so please feel free to pop me a message should you require help within that area!

About the lesson

I have always been a lover of languages myself and think that learning/studying a new language should be fun which is why my lessons include a lot of speaking and oral exercises but also the written language and improving your style when it comes to writing in German is important to me. I'm a very patient and laid back person but do expect interest and passion when it comes to my lessons since you don't get anywhere without a bit of hard work. I always try and keep things light & enjoyable which is why it's important to me that my lessons are a judgment-free zone - good vibes only! :)
