About Hensley
I've been learning German, in school and out, for over 6 years, and as my own skills improved, my excitement in learning new things about the language has only grown. Language learning can be quite intimidating, especially when taught in school, using a rigid method of teaching which doesn't allow for consideration of individual needs. I love learning, practicing, and teaching others German, and I want to inspire that same feeling by making it so the difficulties which come with learning language don't intimidate you out of learning, but instead challenge you in ways which you find exciting and fun!

What's most important to me is understanding what's already working well for you, and what you struggle with, so that we can tailor your lessons to build upon existing skills while strengthening any problem areas.
I myself have gone through the process of learning German both in and out of school, since before my freshman year of high school, and now into my junior year of college, so I understand typical issues that can come up, especially with beginners, and how to work through them.
My lessons are meant for students working on foundational concepts, including but not limited to sentence structure, word order, conjugation, and verb tense, at the A1 and A2 levels. I can help you develop these skills by teaching study techniques, memorization tips, using example sheets, and practicing one on one discussion, depending on what works for you!
