About Josh

Hi! I'm Josh and I've done multiple gigs in a band as lead and rhythm guitarist. Guitar can seem really scary to pick up! I was in your position a few years ago, thinking that I needed in-depth music theory knowledge to be able to play the guitar, thinking it would be too hard to just pick up an instrument out of nowhere. Within a few months of picking up the guitar for the first time, though, I was performing with a band on stages and in pubs having the time of my life! The feeling of playing a song you've only heard is unmatchable, and being able to play songs to your friends is always the best. I'm mostly a pop and rock music fan, but I love all genres of music, and am eager to teach any genre!

About the lesson

If you've never played acoustic or electric guitar and want to get straight to playing your favourite songs quickly while learning the basics of chords, picking, and strumming, I'm here to get you there! In about 10 lessons I will teach you everything you need to know to start playing basic songs, and give you the building blocks to embark on your guitar-journey. I will teach: Guitar Tuning and setup, Basic open Chords, Power Chords, Barre Chords, Lead Lines (Solo technique), Riffs, Picking technique, Strumming technique, and more! You will be able to request songs that you'd like to learn, and I will teach them to you in the next lesson you have.
