About Della
Hello! My name is Della, and I am a native Indonesian speaker with more than six years of teaching experience in schools, community programmes, and creative educational projects. Over the years, I have worked with learners of different ages and backgrounds, from young children to adults, helping them develop confidence, curiosity, and independence in their learning. I have taught in both formal classroom settings and more flexible, project-based environments, which has given me the ability to adapt my teaching style to different needs and goals. I am passionate about creating engaging and supportive learning experiences where students feel encouraged to express themselves, ask questions, and learn at their own pace in a positive and motivating atmosphere.

My teaching approach is student-centred, interactive, and practical. I believe that language is best learnt through meaningful communication rather than memorising grammar rules alone. Therefore, I design lessons that help students use Indonesian naturally and confidently in everyday situations.
In my classes, I combine conversation practice, vocabulary building, pronunciation exercises, reading, and simple grammar explanations. I adapt my teaching methods according to each student's goals and learning style. For example, if you are learning Indonesian for travel, we will focus on useful expressions and real-life situations. If you want to improve your speaking skills, I will provide plenty of opportunities for conversation and feedback.
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes. Lessons are structured but relaxed, allowing students to learn at their own pace while staying motivated and engaged. I also provide exercises and learning materials tailored to each student's level.
I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts Education and am currently completing my MA in Art, Education, Culture and Practice at University College London, where I achieved a Distinction. In addition, I have experience writing educational books and contributing to curriculum development projects for the Indonesian Ministry of Education. These experiences have strengthened my ability to explain concepts clearly and create enjoyable learning experiences.
My lessons are suitable for children, teenagers, and adults. I welcome complete beginners as well as learners who already have some knowledge of Indonesian and wish to improve their speaking, listening, reading, or writing skills.
I aim to create a friendly and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and enjoying the process of learning Indonesian.
