Although Chinese is my first language, teaching a language requires a lot more than what people usually think. I taught students from secondary schools before according to their curriculum and found it is a bit problematic when there is a lack of cultural aspect in the delivering of the class. In my class, the culture is always my main storyline and the authentic Chinese use is the diamond on the ring where students can find themselves use the language freely in relevant contexts in their own life. Written Chinese can be more tricky than speaking, different genre requires different ways of teaching. By building a solid base first before going deep into writing, writing can be so much easier.
I am a native Chinese speaker who studied secondary teaching (Chinese and business) years ago and just graduated from a Master of Education degree (TESOL). While tutoring IELTS and general conversational English, I also love to teach Chinese and Chinese culture to whom may interest. Language in general is my career internet and being a proficient bilingual speaker gives me doubled opportunities to guide more people to fall in love with languages.
If students change or cancel the class 5 hours prior to the class, no fee will be charged for that class.
If students only are available for half of the class, then the hourly fee will be applied.
Hui is such a fantastic teacher, she’s taught me so much in such a short amount of time before I go to china, I wouldn’t be at this fluency level without her, thanks Hui!
