About Abdul

Music has always been a big part of my life, and the guitar is where I found my voice. I started playing when I was younger, and since then, it’s become more than just a hobby—it’s something I truly love and want to share with others. Whether I’m learning a new riff, writing my own chords, or helping someone nail their first strum, the joy of guitar never fades. I teach because I believe music should be fun, empowering, and personal. Everyone learns differently, and I love helping students discover their own rhythm and confidence in a way that suits them. My lessons are friendly, supportive, and packed with practical tips that make even tricky songs feel possible. Whether you’re picking up a guitar for the first time or looking to get to the next level, I’m here to make your musical journey exciting and rewarding. My goal is simple: to help you fall in love with playing guitar—just like I did. Let’s play something great together

About the lesson

As a guitar tutor, I offer lessons for beginners and intermediate players of all ages, especially students in Years 5–10, who are either just starting out or looking to build confidence and expand their playing ability.

My guitar lessons cover:

Fundamentals:
Tuning, holding the guitar, posture, and hand positioning. I make sure students build healthy habits from the start.
Chords and Strumming:
Open chords, power chords, common chord progressions, and strumming patterns for a variety of music styles (pop, rock, acoustic, worship, etc.).
Rhythm and Timing:
Understanding rhythm, using a metronome, learning to feel the beat, and keeping tempo while playing solo or with others.
Songs:
I teach students how to play their favourite songs early in the process to keep them motivated and excited. We often break down songs into manageable parts while learning chords, rhythm, and melody at the same time.
Technique:
Fingerpicking, basic scales, and exercises to improve dexterity, tone, and hand coordination.
Reading & Theory (Optional):
For students who want to go deeper, I can teach guitar tablature, chord diagrams, and foundational music theory (keys, scales, intervals, and transposing).
Creative Expression:
I always encourage students to explore their own musical taste and even try basic songwriting or improvisation if they’re ready.
My lessons are fun, personalised, and structured, with clear goals, regular feedback, and encouragement. I understand that every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching to suit their pace and interests. Whether a student wants to strum their favourite songs, play at school assemblies, or start building toward serious musicianship, I’ll support them with patience and enthusiasm.
