• When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

  I developed an interest in private tutoring ever since I experienced the satisfaction of helping someone understand something they previously struggled with. That moment when a concept "clicks" for a student is really rewarding, and it made me realise how impactful tutoring can be.

• Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

  I teach Maths, covering a range of topics from the GCSE specification, including graded topics from 1 to 9. I particularly enjoy teaching problem solving, algebra, and circle theorems as they challenge students to think deeply.

• Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

  My biggest role models are my parents, who have always worked extremely hard. Their dedication and perseverance inspire me daily, and they've instilled in me a strong work ethic that I bring into my tutoring.

• What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

  A good tutor needs patience, clear communication, adaptability, and enthusiasm for the subject. It's also important to be empathetic and encouraging, helping students build confidence in their abilities.

• Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

  In school, I once struggled with a complex algebraic proof. After spending hours trying to understand it, I finally solved it by breaking it down step by step. That moment taught me the value of perseverance in problem solving, and it's something I now try to teach my students-big problems can always be solved with the right mindset and method.

• What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still face in your subject?

  One of the challenges I've faced is overcoming the fear of getting things wrong, especially in a subject like Maths where mistakes can feel discouraging. Over time, I learned that making errors is actually a vital part of learning, and I encourage my students to embrace mistakes as learning opportunities.

• Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

  Alongside my passion for Maths and teaching, I also have a strong interest in medicine. I enjoy the contrast between the logical, structured nature of Maths and the human, ever-changing complexity of medicine-two completely different fields that keep me curious and motivated.

  I'm a Superprof because I'm a super professor! I bring energy, clarity, and dedication to every session. I aim to not just teach content but to inspire confidence and curiosity in my students.
