The main reason I first decided to start tutoring was because of the joy I found in teaching kids basketball, being able to share my knowledge and help kids feel confident in their own abilities, and I would love to be able to do that with maths as well!

I am a dedicated maths student myself and I love to learn and grow my skills as well as helping others achieve their best.
I have always loved working with kids as I have been doing babysitting since I was around twelve, I have coached 10 - 13s basketball and I have worked in the Myer Santaland over the Christmas period.
My approach to teaching is very much based on each individual student, I believe that it is most important to understand the way that the child likes to learn to promote a happy association with my sessions, I like to also form connections with my students and get to know them for their interests. I aim to promote passion and interest in maths and it's methods. An essential part of my sessions is understanding the 'why' behind every technique and rule in maths, as that was always something that I found important as a kid. Lastly, one of my main aims in my sessions is to help the student know how to help themselves, I make sure that every student has sufficient notes and problem solving skills to be able to trouble shoot any difficulties they may face when I am not there to help them.
