I have studied with many teachers to refine my own playing and to improve my trumpet performance
pedagogy for the benefit of my students. The Donald S. Reinhardt method of brass teaching has been a core
component of my studies over the last 20 years and has resulted in my being able to successfully help students
resolve any issues they might have with the mechanics of playing a brass instrument in an accelerated timeline.
These techniques imparted have enabled my students to perform both efficiently and with a positive mindset. I
have a strong passion for helping students achieve their musical goals with their instrument and equipping them
with the skills and tools needed to express their musical message confidently and successfully to an audience.
Mentoring students as a way for them to build a foundation for a career in music is another key element of my skills portfolio. This includes providing them with the tools to successfully network and collaborate with colleagues and stay well-informed with the current trends in music and music technology. Uplifting my students and ensuring that they achieve their goals towards becoming professional musicians is what drives me in a teaching role. Cultivation of skills both in performance and technology along with a sense of giving back to the community via mentoring and teaching are core values that I deliver through my teaching efforts.
