About Abby
My name is Abigail Torres, but you can call me Abby. I was borna and raised in El Paso, Tx. I graduated from El Paso Community College during the fall of 2020 and transferred to Texas Tech, where I am studying environmental engineering. I plan on working with Occidental Petroleum once I graduate. During my off time, I spend time with my family and friends, especially with my dog, Mia. Several of my hobbies include listening to music, reading poetry books, and writing poetry. I am an open book with an open mind, so if you have questions for me, I will be glad to answer them.

From previous jobs, I have tutored students with learning disabilities so don't be afraid to ask for help! Typically, my sessions can be long as they can be, except for few occasions. To walk you through one of my sessions, I will start off by asking you how your week is going because it is important to be up to date with my student's well-being. Then, I will ask you about what you learned in your class. I will ask what was easy to understand and what was challenging. Based on this information, the tutoring session will begin by me explaining the process of the math problem and ways to approach it. I will provide you with examples showing you this process. What sets me apart from other tutors is that I provide a lot of flexibility and feedback on your performance. I can tutor several mathematics classes and I'll be glad to tutor, middle schoolers, high schoolers, and college students.
