About Lucas

I’m a recent graduate of Cambridge University with a BA and MSci in physical natural sciences with a physics specialism. In terms of my continuing studies, I’m particularly passionate about general relativity and quantum physics. I tutor because I enjoy having engaging and rewarding discussions with students and conveying my love of physics and maths. I want all of my students to want to study maths or science at university!

About the lesson

Typically 1-2hr lessons which begin with a review of the homework, move onto the new topics for that day and conclude with a review and an outline of the homework due for the next lesson. Normally the student will set out the topics they need help with before the lesson so that I can prepare questions and answers before the lesson.

Perfect! Lucas is an excellent tutor: very engaging and knowledgeable in the areas of modern physics which particularly interested me. I took him on as a tutor for myself having got my BA in physics from imperial some 30 years ago I wanted to re-study and see how the field had changed since I last opened a textbook! It was wonderful to get back in touch with my science days and I can recommend Lucas to anyone looking for a high level refresher course in physics!

I was Lucas’ tutor at school and he was brilliantly capable student then and has continued from strength to strength. He loves solving and explaining very challenging problems and has an extremely vast knowledge of physics as demands the Cambridge natural sciences course. Lucas asked me to write a review here, although we found him through a local advert. He tutored my 14 year old gifted son for 20 one hour lessons, giving him intensive tutoring across the 3 sciences and maths and was able to push him to completing the majority of the GCSE maths course and significant parts of the sciences curricula in the 20 sessions and through homework. Lucas is very personable and extremely thorough and I can’t recommend him highly enough!
