About Helen

My name is Helen and will become to be a Music private tutor/teacher. There are reasons to why I want to teach students in piano because I do believe that every student have the ability to learn and explore new techniques and skills as well as improving their understanding and knowledge through both practical and theoretical side.
I also do strongly believe that every student will become better learners as they progress through their learning journey. It is important as a music teacher to provide them with support and goals that will help them to achieve their learning skills and understanding and to ensure they meet the requirements given to them.

About the lesson

I strongly believe every student have the right and ability to learn and improve their techniques and skills.

The techniques and teaching methodology will involve:
- teaching students learn to read and write notes through sight read and theory work
- teaching them how to count beats e.g minim (white note) for 2 beats
- getting students to practice reading time signatures
- teaching students using the correct fingerings whilst playing songs
- providing them with some homework practice after lessons
- teaching them to understand how key signatures work and what keys they are in as well as how dynamics and symbols work.

For beginners, the length of lesson will be an hour. This is to help them get comfortable and ready to learn more songs as they go along

As For intermediate - advanced level:
- an hour for each student as well.

Everything went well. Able to see how well their piano skills are. I thoroughly enjoyed teaching them and helping them out with hand fingerings when they feel unsure of where to put their fingers on. It is very good to see them learning quick and able to play some chords. To improve, they can keep practicing piano a lot everyday and play variety of songs that will build their piano skills level up. Otherwise, it is a very good experience to teach them both.

Since it is her first lesson for the first time and since she is a beginner learner, one of the ways to improve along the way is through practicing at home and everyday and slowly one hand each time until she gets used to it. Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed teaching her as a beginner student herself and as a music teacher myself and willingly to see how much she has progress along the way.
