About Subalakshmi

I am a passionate researcher in immunology and neuroscience. Just as much as I enjoy research in the lab, I have enjoyed training and educating. Figuring out how to make a concept understandable to a student is a challenge I enjoy just as much tackling research questions in the lab. I have developed this skill and passion since my school years. I have voluntarily taken on students who were failing in language and maths and enabled them to not only pass but score above 70% as well. During my uni years I have tutored one to one in biology and chemistry and have produced results that have satisfied both the student and their parent. I am proud of my achievements as they have helped my students thrive and succeed. The joy of seeing the concept “click” in the student’s mind, that “Aha!” moment is what drives me, and I look forward to continuing that!

About the lesson

The first session is to assess fit - it is a discussion of student needs and my teaching style. I adapt my strategy to the student, focusing on understanding over mere memorisation, and have excelled at simplifying concepts and producing results.
