About Savana
As a teacher, I have spent the last 7 years ensuring the optimal success of my students. My goal is to teach what students will remember for the rest of their school careers. Making a skill or topic “make sense” through discussions, questions, conceptualizing, and real-life examples are key to ensuring students leave the classroom with actual understanding of a lesson and not just a short-term memory stored temporarily in their brains.

My objective in teaching is “Make Math Make Sense” in contrast to teaching steps only utilized to memorize and forget. When we find out “why” a problem is solved, we have conceptual understanding of a skill, not just a folder of memorized steps filed away in our brains that will eventually be forgotten.
