About Katherine
My name is Katherine, I completed my degree in Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge in 2023 and have since also completed a master's degree in Bioarchaeology and Forensic Anthropology at UCL. I love all things science, especially biology and forensic science, and I am currently working in a forensic research lab. I attended a state comprehensive secondary school with no history of sending students to Oxbridge, however, it was the teachers there that inspired my love of learning and supported me in achieving my goals. I started tutoring as soon as I left school and I am very passionate about helping students find enjoyment in learning, especially the subjects they struggle most with.

I personalise every tutoring session to the individual needs of my students; beginning at an appropriate level to initially improve confidence and then push them to the next level when they are ready. I continually encourage students to talk about the subject topics that they struggle with, keeping an up-to-date record of their stronger and weaker topics. Past paper questions from the student's exam board are utilised extensively in my sessions, as I believe they are the best means of exam preparation. I also encourage the use of past paper questions for revision in the students' own time. I am always keen to support students who are lacking in confidence in science and mathematics, to provide a supportive learning environment for them, and any student who may require an alternative approach to support learning. GCSE Maths or Science: £25 per hour. A-Level Biology: £30 per hour. Can support exam preparation for any UK exam board.
